One of the resident Puppet makers claims to be having problems with a thief. They say someone is sneaking into their storeroom at night and snatching up their puppets.
Objective: Stakeout the storeroom and apprehend the culprit, preferably alive and unharmed if possible.

Tonou waited for Mianyi outside the Kazekage's office on a late midsummer night. Tonou was wearing his usual garb of a black traveling coat. He had with him details of a mission that Mianyi and himself were supposed to undertake. It was a C rank missions, and sounded easy enough to Tonou. The operation was simple, infiltrate a puppet shop, find out who else has been doing it, and bring that back to the Kazekage, caught and red-handed. Tonou stood patiently, his mind in other places and off in other worlds. Eventually he would lay on the ground across the entrance of the Kazekage's office, not caring who saw him or who thought that he looked like a bum. Sleep would over take him during his wait, and when Mianyi came by she would find a sleeping Tonou Erra. The thought of it actually amused him, but he wouldn't show it.

Mianyi can't help but be nervous about this mission, but it's not the mission itself or the objectives, she's just a nervous girl in general. She spends a few hours before the time when she's supposed to meet Tonou for the mission obsessing over every little detail of her appearance - the way she wears her hair, her choice of clothing, exactly where to place some weapons in her pockets - and then starts to run through various 'what if' scenarios in her head. By the time it comes for her to leave her house to head to the meeting point, she is well and truly psyched up, and not the better for it.

She slinks on over to the Kazekage's office where she sees Tonou sleeping. She stares for a moment as if unsure. None of the scenarios that played out in her head included this. If her quiet presence isn't enough to rouse Tonou she'll clear her throat and wait a moment before stepping forward to gently poke his shoulder and squeak out a, "Hey, it's time for the mission."

Tonou stirs for a moment but doesn't wake. It's not until the second prod that he lifts open an eye. "Uh, what?" Remembering he is on a mission he raises up and lets out a long stifling yawn. Tonou stands up and starts walking towards the direction of the Storeroom they are staking out, ignoring Mianyi and whistling a tune of his own. Tonou's social awkwardness was something of a signature for the Suna Genin.

"…" Mianyi stands for a moment as Tonou just walks off, then she rushes after him to catch up. She makes no effort to indulge in idle chatter while they go off to the storeroom, content to just walk in quiet. In that regard, the two make a good pair - both too socially awkward to spend much time talking.

When they reach the storeroom in need of watching she looks around to see where various hiding spots are that will afford a good view of the entrances and windows. "You remembered to bring your radio, right?"

Tonou looks at her as if she had asked if he knew what one plus one was. "Of course...." Tonou pulls out his radio and puts a piece in his ear. He then turns his frequency to channel two, fitting because there are two of them. Tonou uses his black cloak to hide under the table. The cloak concealing his presence unless someone who were to actually walk under the puppet station's table.

Mianyi looks embarrassed for asking the question while she situates her own radio.

With some hesitation she states her plan. "I'll be outside on the roof next door. If I see someone coming I'll let you know and you can get them from in here. If someone comes in through a way I can't see, you'll let me know and I'll get them coming out."

Tonou doesn't answer her, meaning he is okay with the plan they have in place. As he lays down under the work table he begins to drift off, finally catching himself and remembering that there is a mission to be done. An hour or so goes by without any signs of thieves. Tonou considers radioing Mianyi to see if she has anything outside, but chooses not to.

Mianyi hesitates for a moment before realizing that Tonou's silence means he finds the plan acceptable. She then nods and heads out of the storeroom quietly before she heads to the roof of the building next door. There she settles in on the roof, laying flat so she does not stick out, and covering herself with a dark cloak to help camouflage herself.

She watches for some time before she sees a shadowy figure in a cloak of his(?) own start to approach the storeroom door. She tenses and quickly radios in to Tonou. "Someone at the door. Be alert."

Tonou momentarily snaps out of his daydream and gets ready to bring at whoever is coming through the store room. "Ok." Tonou's plan is to go in hot, and use Taijutsu to incapacitate whoever comes through the door. Bending his knees and finding balance while on the ground under a table is difficult, but he manages to situate his body ready to spring.

Mianyi tenses into a crouch and waits for the cloaked figure to enter the storeroom. Deep inside she hopes this is the perpetrator and not someone who has legitimate reason to be there.

Inside the storeroom, Tonou would hear someone fiddling with the lock. It is not the smooth sound of a key being inserted and then tinkered with, but the sound of someone trying to pick it and get in, so it takes the person longer to open it than someone with a key would. And then the shadowy cloaked figure is in the room, closing the door behind him, and takes a moment to situate himself before going to one of the shelves to pick up small objects and scrutinize them in the dark, putting some in his pocket.

Once Mianyi sees that the person went in through the front door and she quietly hops down from her post on the roof and creeps towards the door. If he tries to get out the same way, she'll pounce on him.

Tonou responds as soon as he sees the culprit pocket a tinker from the shelf. Tonou springs from under the table, knocking some of its contents to the floor. He lunges for the culprit, aiming a hard knee to his side. He begins to wrestle around with the cloaked figure, who is a lot stronger than Tonou originally anticipated. They are backing and banging into shelves and tables throughout the storeroom.

Outside the storeroom Mianyi can hear the ruckus that comes from Tonou and the cloaked figure wrestling. She quietly and slowly cracks the door open, finding that the culprit left it unlocked behind him. She peeks in to get an idea of where in the room Tonou and the thief are, then relies on him to be too distracted to notice a second person joining the fray.

She quietly slips into the storeroom and lunges for the culprit, aiming a knee in his stomach to help Tonou get the upper hand in subduing the thief.

The thief bows over as the knee hits him directly. Tonou manages to wrestle him down without having to use any chakra or excessive force, meaning that the subdued thief would be perfectly healthy when brought in for questioning and his inevitable arrest. Tonou looks up at Mianyi, "Good." A simple word that really meant, 'good job, i'm proud of you' but Tonou wasn't the sort of person to say such a thing. Tonou lifts the thief on his feet, his arms now tied behind his back with binding wire.

Mianyi nods at the compliment and stands up and away, tensing into a ready position in case the thief manages to break free from Tonou's grasp while he's bound up. Even then she doesn't relax. Just because they caught him doesn't mean the mission is over. "Let's take him in," she says, heading for the door to lead the way out.

Once they are outside in the street, Mianyi walks behind Tonou and the thief, ready to bound after him if he tries to make a break for it.

Tonou and Mianyi walk the man to the Administration Building where a few Suna Peace keepers are waiting. As they hand over the man, Tonou is handed some mission paperwork. He signs it quickly and then hands it to Mianyi to turn in. He gives her a quick look and starts to walk towards his home. Just as it would appear he was going to leave without saying anything back his voice interrupts the night.

"See you later."

Mianyi quietly takes the paperwork and nods at Tonou. "S-see you later!" she calls after him.

She then returns to the paperwork to sign it and finish filling it out, if Tonou left any blanks or information that needed to be added to it. Once it's complete, she turns the mission report in to the proper location and then goes to her home to rest for the night.
