Investigate the "Iron" Brothers:

Maou woke up fairly early. The sun will still hiding, but his mother was already awake and cooking what smelled like a delicious breakfast. They chit chatted a bit as they ate, she had many questions. She asked about his duties, about his teammates, about his recent missions, and about his love life. Maou answered all of them until she asked about his love life which was very much non existent.

After laughing it off, he put his plate up and saw the shinobi mailman deliver a letter tot he mailbox. He quickly rushed out and retrieved it. The letter described in detail what the purpose of team 1's next mission was. In summary, they had to tail the iron brothers and investigate their activities.

Maou got out of his lounge wear and into his usual shinobi attire. He sheathed his katana and kissed his mother goodbye. He walked with his hands in his pockets to the meeting point, which was at the town market. Hopefully his teammates would already be there.

Zen was the first one at the town market. Punctual and prepared, Zen awaited his fellow squadmates to arrive. This would probably be their first team mission together, and their target was the infamous criminal duo, the "Iron" Brothers. Yet, despite their reputation they were nothing that a couple of Genin cannot handle. They weren't as fearsome as some of the duos of Kumogakure's criminal past.

He noticed Maou approaching him. "Morning", he said.

"Hey there Zen, beat any more dogs into submission lately?"

Maou walked up to Zen who was already at the market. He stood a few feet away from him with his hands on his hips. He stretched out his arms as they waited a few minutes for the 3rd member to arrive. (@kami.)

"Mhm mhm.... no. I've set me sights on cats now!" he joked. Waiting for a few more minutes, he decided that they better get moving. "Our information source tells us that the brothers are currently having lunch with a big group. We should go now so that we can follow them before they leave", Zen sad.

Maou chuckles, then nods in agreement. He checked his pouch and katana to make sure they were there, then followed Zen.

"Why are we doing the duties that belong to the Kumo police again?"

Asked the young uchiha as he trailed behind zen.

"Because!" Zen began. "They are lazy...."

They were approaching the restaurant when the Iron Brothers Sai and Tai were leaving it. They were two burly men, in their mid 20s, characterized by their mohawk hairstyles and white shirts with a bird logo pasted on the front. Although they appeared to be physically stronger than the two Genin, indicated by their pride in their iron-like flesh, their brains were to be questioned.

"There they are.... it looks like they're going somewhere. We'll follow them, but remember the basics of tracking and pursuit. Keep your distance and if you can't remain casual and innocent, then keep yourself hidden", Zen reminded him.

Maou nodded. He stood a few feet away from Zen. He noticed the two brothers with mohawks, and their intimidating physique.

"I'm not the Kumo police. I can pin the tail on the donkey without the donkey noticing."

Maou was wearing his usual all black attire including gloves. He wore the Kumo one shoulder vest that left the uchiha emblem exposed on his right upper chest.

Though they never actually became ninja, they still knew the basic ninja skills and must know how to keep themselves inconspicuous. Zen felt like he must adopt the same attitude. He trailed after them for a distance before stopping to signal Maou to go on ahead. Once Maou trails after the brothers as far as possible so long as Zen is still in sight from behind him, Zen wanted him to signal him to follow them for a distance and repeat that routine.

Maou continued to tail the Iron brothers from a few yards away. He walked very casually any just about would think he was just going on about his day. One of the Iron brothers turned his head to look at a nearby book shop. He picked up a magazine that had the picture of a kunoichi in nothing but headband protector.

Upon seeing the brother move, Krysto did the same. He pivoted to his right and picked up a random shirt from the shop he had turned to face. The shirt said Believe IT! across the chest. Maou stretched out his arms and yawned, turned to look back at Zen, giving him the signal in the process.

The routine went well. When it was Zen's turn, he followed the two brothers closely. He couldn't pick up what they were saying, especially not in a crowd where there's a lot of noise interference. However, nothing seemed out of ordinary about the brothers. They appeared to be happily chatting each other and they've only stopped to take a look at what's on sale from the open stall markets. A few casual exchanges were made with the shopkeepers before they were on their way again.

Zen was about to signal Maou when they he saw the brothers entering an apartment complex. There was a security door lock which the brothers got through by swapping a card. Zen stopped, knowing this was the end of the road. The building was fairly big, meaning it was impractical for them to peek through every window, especially not in broad daylight. The only way for them to get through is to break the security lock, which would mean going above the scope of this tracking mission. They must not get into too close of a contact with the brothers. So, Zen just waited out....

Convinced that the brothers simply returned to their dwelling and would remain there for the rest of the day without any evil-doing, Zen was about to head back with Maou when he saw the brothers come out... with a flashy looking man. Zen saw that there was a stand selling straws nearby so he made himself look like he wasn't stalking them for a long time by buying the longest straw they had. As they splitted off, he heard the man say, "I'll go pick up the goods". The brothers replied by saying, "See you on Monday".

Zen saw the man disappearing into an empty alley while the brothers were returning to the crowds. He turned to Maou. "Follow the brothers, I'm going to go after the man. Meet me back in front of the police HQ. If I don't return by nighttime, you'll know something happened to me". And with that, he went after the man...

Maou nodded as Zen informed him of his plan. He was across the street from the apartment complex the brothers had gone into. He saw Zen follow the man into the ally, then turned around to lean his back on the building at his back.



Maou noticed that in a few of the balconies, there were some men conversing or playing cards. He thought this was a bit suspicious, and if they were with the Iron Brothers, they would surely notice him scouting the place. He looked around, and saw a small ramen shop with a good view towards the apartments.

"Oh hey! there you are!"

He walked next to a red head kunoichi who happened to be walking by. He greeted her with a dashing smile as he stopped her for a quick second.

"It's me, from the academy remember? we used to play hide and seek and you'd always win!"

He had no idea who the girl was, but his plan was to get her to have lunch with him, so he could have a reason be in the area. Maou's charming eyes and dashing smile got the best of the girl, as she nodded her head up and down.

"yes! i remember! it's been so long! we should catch up!"

She smiled brightly and latched onto his arm. He smiled back and walked her over to the ramen shop he had spotted. The two sat down and ordered, Maou did his best to keep the girl clueless as to what his real purpose was.

Zen followed the man, which led him to en empty road. It was very quiet as there were only a few buildings/residences around. Really, only the two of them are out for the moment. Zen realized that he would not be able to stealthily track the guy if there weren't enough places to hide. He decided to turn to his only solution. Activating his chakra, Zen sank underground and then erased the traces of the jutsu. Following the man from below, knowing that he'd be the only one he can sense, this allowed him to follow the man without worrying about being seen.

He stopped when the man stopped, and Zen popped his head up ten meters behind the man. Right next to a small building, there were a few boxes. The man was opening them up and took out what looked like a Hello-Kitty plush doll. However, the man drew a knife as if to threaten the doll with. Zen didn't feel any obligation to keep an inanimate toy out of harm's way, so he just observed the man where he was. The man was brutal and cruel, decapicitating the doll. He reached his hand into it and pulled out a bag. And the case was solved.

Zen launched a chop to a pressure point on the back of the man's head, knocking him out quickly. Zen picked up the bag and opened it. Dipping a finger into its contents, he put a finger to his tongue and ingested the substance. "Drugs", he said. He would have to leave everything here, but at least they know that the brothers are probably linked to this. Zen fled from the scene, returning to the back of the police HQ to wait for Maou.
