Tonou Erra vs. Kusa 4 [Finished]

Ero is a slip of a girl, almost fae-like in her appearance and mannerisms. She moves gracefully into position in the middle of the arena. To start off with she bows in the direction of her opponent, a gesture which quickly morphs into some hand seals as roots sprout up from the ground near Tonou and lunge in his direction with the intent to entangle.

Tonou looks down at the grasping roots and quickly leaps into the air. He drops his large coat and allows the roots to entangle it. As soon as he lands he releases a bit of chakra and wind and uses his B-Rank Jutsu technique, Gone with the Win. In double the time he is right next to Ero and throws a quick strike to her face with his right palm. If that hits he will instantly follow with his right knee into her gut. If the palm strike misses or his deflected, he will instantly attack with his left palm.

A flash of surprise crosses Ero's face when Tonou appears so close to her, though she quickly smoothes her expression into a poker face. The effort of that costs her a fraction of a second that is Tonou's advantage, allowing him to hit her in the face with his right palm. However, Ero moves with the momentum of this blow in an almost floating spin away from him, preventing his right knee from connecting as a follow up.

Roots sprout up from beneath where she lands, one carrying her away from Tonou and the others attempting once more to entangle Tonou. One hand goes to rub her face where there is a visible red mark, while the other throws a shuriken at his left ear.

The speed boost from his Jutsu allows him to dodge the entanglement. However the shuriken has caught him off guard, so in order to stop it he raised his right palm and crosses it over to block the shuriken from his face. The shuriken cuts his palm open but reflects off out of the stage. Using his speed once more he advances on Ero, using his Taijutsu attack, Winded Double Kick.

Winded Double Kick:

Ero moves quickly like a little nymph, but not as quickly as Tonou can with his Gone with the Wind technique active. The double kicks land as intended and Ero is kicked into the air and across the arena, hitting the edge of the arena roughly and landing very ungracefully on the ground.

She recovers and stands up, blood dripping down her forehead. "Now," she says in a stern voice as her features distort into an ugly, dark expression. "Now I'm angry!" She stamps her foot and multiple images of her swim across Tonou's field of view like angry little faes cackling and dancing around him. There's a faint rumbling, too, of something underfoot, as she once more relies on a root attack from below, trying to grab and squeeze him.

Tonou is distracted as the grasping roots finally grab hold, crippling his movement and tying him to the spot where he stood. He faced his aggressor as she watched, face contorted. He would have to figure his way out of this before she was allowed to put out too much damage. Thinking hard, he decided his best course of action would be to wait for her to make her move before he used Oukoshou to blast off the tangling roots.

Ero's face contorts with further rage, completely eradicating any hint of her earlier beauty and grace. With Tonou finally caught in the grasping roots, she lifts a fist and makes a clenching motion. Tonou would feel the roots constrict around him in what is rapidly becoming a tight pressure. If it keeps up, it's likely to crack some ribs or worse, although Tonou should be able to blast his way free. She still maintains her distance, clearly unwilling to get in close to someone who prefers taijutsu to ninjutsu.

The proctor nearby stands alert, ready to intervene or call the fight if Ero is going to take this too far in her rage.

Seeing that Ero is taking the patient approach, Tonou uses Oukashou and releases chakra from his constricted palms to blast through the grasping roots. Once free he lunges forward. The momentum from his earlier jutsu has worn off, sending him at normal speed, which was still quicker than most Genin. Once in range of Ero again he uses Fury Fists a Barrage style attack empowered with Fuuton released around his fists.

Fury Fists:

"No!" Ero snarls as Tonou breaks from the hold of her roots, and just when she finally had him in her grasp. She darts away from him, but just as her earlier beauty is gone, so is her earlier grace and agility. Tonou's barrage of fists hits her side first, just off target, but it's enough to spin her off balance and set her up to be rapidly battered by follow up strikes. Ero cries out as she's heavily battered and comes to rest a distance away from Tonou on the ground, blood starting to drip from her mouth.

She angrily claws at the ground and lets out a frustrated wail that is a combination of rage and pain as a cocoon of wooden roots forms a protective barrier around her from which wooden spikes shoot out like porcupine quills.

Tonou sees his opportunity, and in an intense moment of insanity or pure genius he slams his fist into the barrier, his fingers and knuckles pierced by quills as different parts of his body are pricked as well. Oukashou!" This time he yells his strike loud enough for everyone present to hear clear as day.

Tonou's attack breaks through Ero's cozy little barrier and she has nowhere to go. She screams loudly as she's hit into the ground and for a moment there is silence until a clawing hand can be seen emerging from the broken remnants of her cocoon as she tries to pull herself away. The proctor steps in, signaling the fight is over.

"The winner is Tonou Erra of Sunagakure."

The battered Ero is hauled off to receive medical treatment.

Tonou was preparing another strike with the proctor stepped in. Tonou looks around to see the concerned faces of many of the spectators. He was willing to kill and people seemed to realize that. They were shocked and surprised by his fierce demeanor, but Tonou didn't care. He turned and walked off the stage towards the other stages. He was bored and wanted to see some more fights.
