Lost Kid | D-Rank Mission [Finished] Empty
PostSubject: Lost Kid | D-Rank Mission [Finished]   Lost Kid | D-Rank Mission [Finished] EmptyTue Apr 21, 2015 1:22 pm

Quote :
Name: Lost Kid
Rank: D
Location: Forest north of Konoha
Description: A little boy named Takeshi wandered off into the forest just north of Konoha. There's some wild animals out there, so it's imperative to act quickly before he gets into trouble with one of them.
Goal: Find Takeshi

Daisuke was already awake as his alarm went off. He nonchalantly turned it off. His clothes were already laid out on his dresser in the corner of his apartment. His attire was the usual Konoha flak jacket draped over a black shirt. He topped the appearance off with black sweats and sandals. Anxiety was running a little higher than usual on this day. Today would be his first mission, albeit a D-Rank mission. For most people it wouldn't be such a big deal, but to Daisuke, this was the most daunting task he'd ever faced. His mission was simple enough, find a boy named Takeshi that couldn't seem to stay put. He was out and about in the forest, which didn't bode well for a boy with no experience. The forest sheltered many wild animals; bears, cougars, wolves, even wild boars that charged at pretty much anything they saw. Daisuke would need to locate Takeshi quickly and get him back into the village before he managed to get himself hurt.

Finally ready, Daisuke put on the last bit of his attire, a Konoha headband. Grabbing a Banana and an apple, he set out his front porch for the forest.

"First Mission, you're cool Daisuke, you're cool."

Daisuke arrived outside the forest at half-past eleven. The day was overcast, unusual for Konoha. Instead of the bright sun ahead with white clouds dotting an ocean-blue sky, a dark shadow was cast over the land from a particularly nasty looking dark grey sea of rain clouds. Rain would be good for tracks, but bad for Takeshi. If he tried to find shelter from the rain, there was no telling who he might be bunking with. Animals seems to act up during the rain. They weren't used to it, and it riled them up to the point of aggression towards everything and anything that crossed their path. 'Now where could he be? Where would I even start?' The forest was enormous and covered a lot of territory. Daisuke would start out with the basics, walk right into the forest and start calling for Takeshi. Who knows, maybe Takeshi would just be chilling in a tree around the forest entrance. Something told Daisuke that wouldn't be the case however, and his calls yielded nothing as a result.

"Takeshi! Takeshi!"

Birds flew up into the sky with each call, bothered by how loud Daisuke was being. The occasional squirrel would scurry up a tree next to Daisuke, making him jump. He wasn't used to being in the forest alone. Ninja or not, it bothered him.

The day continued to wear on and on, and there was still no sign what-so-ever of young Takeshi. Daisuke was beginning to worry that maybe this mission would prove too difficult, and would become a farce and a set back in his role in becoming a successful Konoha Genin. The fate of this young bot could rest solely on his shoulders, he couldn't fail now. But where was this troublesome kid? There were no footprints or tracks or any sign of anyone being this far into the forest. Maybe he had turned up back home and his parents had rushed to the Hokage's office and exclaimed that he was okay, and everything was alright. Yamanaka thought about maybe going to home to find out, but thought better of it. He was a Yamanana, a Konoha Genin, most especially and important of all, part of the Hokage's personal squad. Letting the Hokage down by failing a D rank missions was unbearable to Daisuke. He couldn't fathom that idea. Bucking up, he started to run. He withdrew a Kunai from his pouch and began to strike each tree he passed, marking where he had previously been. As his speed picked up so did focus. He was now scanning for anything at all that would indicate Takeshi had been around.

Finally making headway in the forest he came upon something unusual. A small pack on the ground carrying a few sandwhiches and some toys. Obviously the pack belonged to Takeshi. He had come this far and at some point lost his pack with a few of his belongings. Quickly scanning the ground for any signs of footprints he noticed that there was a small trail leading from the pack into a thicket of bramble. It had to have belonged to Takeshi, crawling his way into whatever trouble he could discover. Daisuke slashed the tree closest to him and grabbed Takeshi's pack, slinging it over his shoulder. 'I'm coming Takeshi.' Daisuke made his way to through the bramble. Someone as small as Takeshi would have no problem squeezing through, Daisuke on the other hand was fighting through thorns and twigs, cutting his shirt and scratching himself in multiple locations. Finally through, he scanned the area to find that beyond the bramble was a small gully with a large pond. Around the edge of the pond was a muddy bank, where tiny footprints dotted and decorated. Takeshi had played in the water and then taken another path out of the gully. Finally hot on the trail Daisuke darted forward.

Daisuke continued to follow muddy footprintes. After what felt like an hour, Daisuke stumbled upon a dangerous scene. Takeshi had climbed a small tree and was crying among the branches. Below the tree was a large wolverine, clawing and slashing his way up the tree. The tree was too nimble for the wolverine's body as the wolverine slid down after every attempt to climb it. It's snarls and howls were of annoyance to Daisuke who had hoped that he wouldn't have to deal with any wild animals. He didn't like to hurt any animals nor did he particularly care for them either. Without seeing much of an option he yelled towards the wolverine, gaining its' attention and bringing it away from Takeshi, who now looked intently at Daisuke expecting him to handle the situation he had undoubtedly got himself into.

Daisuke hopped over the charging wolverine throwing two kunai on either side of it. Each kunai had binding string connected to the end, with the third kunai the string was connected to still in Daisuke's hand. Daisuke pulled up on the kunai and the string tightened, binding the wolverine to the ground but not injuring the animal at all. He then drove the kunai in to the earth and addressed Takeshi, "Oi, get down."

Takeshi apprehensively climbed down, sniveling as he went. Before he could descent all the way down his foot caught the side of the tree, sending him toppling down. Luckily for little Takeshi, Daisuke had leapt forward and caught the tike before he crashed into the ground. "Oi, what are you doing in the forest running off like that?" Daisuke's voice was stern, but still kind, and it caused Takeshi to ease up a little bit before answering in a pitiful 'I'm really sorry' tone. "I-I thought I-I would come play ninja in the forest." Takeshi kept looking past Daisuke at the wolverine that was struggling on the ground behind them trying to wither free. "Well next time play ninja in the village." Daisuke slung the pack off of his back and handed it to Takeshi. "I believe this belongs to you." Takeshi's face lit up at the sight of his pack and hastily dug into it, pulling out a sandwich and burying his face in it. He then looked up from his sandwich, took a deep breathe and asked if they were going back to Konoha. Daisuke smiled and nodded. "Let's get you home before your parents lose their minds."

Daisuke told Takeshi to stand back as they passed the wolverine. Daisuke made a simple clone technique, at had the fake Daisuke grab the wolverine's attention while the real Daisuke cut the binding wire that tied it down. The wolverine took the bait, flying after the Daisuke clone. "Right, now it's time go." Daisuke turned and pushed Takeshi along, not taking his eyes off of him for a second. The journey back to the village was peaceful. Takeshi was too tired to talk, and Daisuke was thankful for the success of the mission and being able to walk back listening to the birds. The Hokage would undoubtedly be pleased to hear Daisuke's first mission had been a success. They arrived back at Konoha just before dusk without any further incident. A dirty and tired Takeshi was smothered by a crying mom and an embarrassed dad as they both thanked Daisuke for finding Takeshi. "Yeah, yeah. Thankyou." Daisuke then walked back to the Hokage's office and filed a mission report. Detailing the incident with the wolverine Daisuke smiled, he had really done well. Once the report was finished he signed the bottom and put it in the mission return box.

Finish
